Question for those that feed premade raw, After much research I am making the transition to pre-made raw. I will be alternating between Natures Variety patties and medallions, and Primal. I seem to be reading a lot of contradicting opinions, so I was just wondering do you feed your babies once a day, or twice a day? Depending on the brand, some instruct to feed once and some say twice. Thanks! |

what you can do is separate the portions so that the feedings are not just once a day .. only my opinion.. |

given your furbabies ages then if you wanted to feed them once a day that would be alright.. do they scarf their food down when they eat? or are they picky? |

If your babies are hungry then I would give them the twice a day feeding I wish Odie would scarf down his food. He doesn't want to eat anything more than 2 or 3 times then it is his furbutt that I watch as he doesn't want to eat whatever I put down.. including Nature's Valley raw medallions.. I am so frustrated feeding him because he is so hard to find something that would excite his pallet.. I have tried almost every kibble that is good for him.. still won't eat.. he can't afford to not eat because he is so small.. he knows that if I keep trying he will keep walking away... and when he walks his little furbutt wiggles as if to say... ha ha.. I got ya again... |
Jamie's on NV Raw and I feed him twice a day. |
I prefer Primal. The vegetables and fruits are all organic and the meat sources are antibiotic/hormone free. They also produce smaller batches then NV, so its more closely watched during manufacture. I also recommend 2X a day for feeding. I feed my Yorkie mix the Primal Pheasant formula 2 X a day and she loves, loves, loves it! |
i feed my girls 2x a day..i think once a day will prob. make their blood sugar level low. mine are 3.5lb and 4lb and little baby is 2lb. They each get one medallion in the morning and one at night. I give the yougurt in the morning with their meal. |
Twice a day. Primarily - ONCE a day is more intended for prey model feeding. Personally, I'm really not a big fan of once a day feedings. If you pay attention to the fact that usually - a meal is digested within 8-10 hours, once a day feedings just don't make physiological sense. Plus, your dog would need to be able to consume pretty large amounts in one feedings, similar to what a wolf would do in the wild - at one feeding. |
