bacterial skin infection?!! Hi! I know i havent visited in awhile...school has been finishing up. But my spirits aren't lifted now that its over because Timmy has a serious skin infection!! It's black and crusty. The vet said it was bacterial and that it was common in small dogs, especially terriers. He put Timmy on an antibacterial medicine called Clindamycin Hydrochloride Drops. He been on them for 10 days now and i see very little improvement. I'm really frustrated and worried because he is so tender and yelps anytime someone pets him the wrong way. :(Has anyone heard of this? And do you know anything else i can do for him. It's spreading all over his little body. i want it to go away!! Worried mother  |
where is the infection at? |
Oh goodness, I am so sorry hun :( I hope your little sweetheart is all better soon. I know how frustrating these infections can be :( My Tatum never had anything that bad, but she did have a bacteria infection around her little nose that caused some hair loss (quite a bit actually) but our vet put her on Clavamox and gave her some meds for allergies as she does have pretty bad allergies (the allergy pills she can take for the rest of her life or however long she needs) and thank goodness it seems to really be helping her. I hope your little one is all better soon....big hugs to you both! |
:confused:It started with a small place on his neck and two tiny sores on his ears that never went away. Then It spread pretty quickly once the weather started warming up. It's all over his ears, all of his feet and his upper right back and sholder. his scrotum is completely covered with it too. since he's been on medicine that is the only part that seems to be getting better. |
Poor baby. I would get a consult with a dermatologist, since it is not getting better with treatment. |
Ahhh....poor baby. Hang in there, he'll get better soon. Did the Vet give you any special shampoo? The Coat Handler makes a Shampoo (1 to 5) and a Conditioner that is suppose to be good for issues with skin just like this. They also make a cream called Skin Works that also does wonders for these types of skin issues. I don't know if the stores carry it or not, but I have always purchased the products online. Maybe they would benefit Timmy  |
