Day 2- lookin good Yorkie Sue, thanks for your reply. :) I really appreciate it. I agree that with vets you have to take everything they say with a grain of salt. I think that going into this with all the information possible is the best i can do for my dog. I like the idea of steaming it in the microwave. I'll have to pickup some of those enzymes if i'm giong to do that. I also think that the NV brand is something that makes it easier to be careful with because it's all ready and right there. I'm going to keep up the raw and keep my eyes open for any changes. I actually just fed her the raw mixed in with the Prarie kibble for the second time last night. My thoughts were that she'd eat the raw food and leave the kibble now that she knows what it is, but she lapped up every single bite. Just FYI: that NEVER happened before with her regular food. Her poo was solid- no problems whatsoever last night and this morning. (this morning's was on the kitchen floor, so you can imagine my relief!) I think this might be a great start to the rest of her life. :thumbs up Now, if I could just finalize the potty bell training.... :) |
I was wondering why I see nobody feeding the NV raw beef formula medallions. Is it not as safe as the others?.. Just a little nervous because we have been feeding the raw beef formula for a couple months now and our yorkie won't touch anything but the beef and he loves it!!... |

I don't think that the beef is unsafe, its more because a lot of yorkies seem to have an allergy to it. I know for my Blaze, he can not eat the Beef at all. He becomes very itchy. I think some would say the same about the Chicken as well! |
that's actually what i'm using, the beef formula |
Nature's Variety Questions I don't work for the company but I just LOVE this product. As I have stated in several other postings though, please be careful of the bones that these medallions and esp. the organic patties can contain. I go thru the medallions with my fingers just to be sure. I have called the company several times but they continue to tell me that their highy specific machines cut these bones to specs etc. etc. They are supposed to be 1/4 " long and not one iota longer. I have found a couple that WERE longer and very sharp. I did not let that deter me though since these wonderful medallions (I use chicken and thank God my Yorkies are not intolerant of chicken) plus supplements gave my rescue Yorkie his life back. I will always be convinced of this. He was one sick pup and I had already been the vet, medication, xray ,sonogram route and still his IBD WAS OUT OF CONTROL. Until, I found NV and the wonderful supplement company that I now represent. Please do not microwave these medallions if you are thinking of lightly steaming them. Use the top of your stove and pot with a lid. Microwaving is really a very dangerous thing to do and there has been lots written on this topic so check it out. Also, since I HAVE CHOSEN TO LIGHTLY STEAM MY MEDALLIONS I need to add a digestive enzyme which I do. I also add organic veggies two or three times week. If any one is interested in beginning to use supplements there are three you should start with--do not use a heavy hand and contact me if you want more info as I would be happy to give you more info. Write me privately or write me at my email:dazzlindaawg@aol.com You want to use Acidophilus, SBZymes and ABA Plus (a wonderful Blue Green algae combo supplement) You can read about these on my site: www.simplexityhealth.com/Susan Behlmar Let me know if you would like more info on these supplements and keep using NV. I swear I, Maybea_mommy do solemly swear never to nuke dogfood again. :) Seriously though, i had no idea. Thanks for letting me know. Day Three went fine. So far, other than the ONE time, she's been fine digestively. I'm so happy with this product line thus far. I'm even more happy i found Yorkie Talk! Thanks everyone! :D |
