Hi every one, im back again, and i have a custion for all of you, did any of your dogs have, or had retained deciduous teeth??( its when they dont drop their puupy theets and the adult ones come right next the them) is it expensive at the bet??? any of you have any idea?? my dog have that problem and needs intervention right away, any idea any of you?? |
I'm sure you will receive all kinds of answers, Stella had 9 which were removed when she was spayed at 6-7 months. Otherwise it would have been the cost of anesthesia and the bloodpanel prior to anesthesia plus the cost per tooth. There is a large difference in cost as per living area etc. Has your vet given you a price yet? In that range we were looking at 48.00 anesthesia 39.00 labs 9.00 per tooth Instead since she was under anyway he did everything for 197.00 |
I was charged about $70 for removing 10 retained puppy teeth. Ruby was also being spayed at the time. The charge was supposed to be $10 per tooth, but I think of couple of them basically fell out so he didn't charge for those. |
It's very common for yorkies to need their milk teeth pulled. Many people have this done when they puppies are neutered. For Joey it was just $5.00 a tooth. It's actually important to have them pulled because they can cause food to become trapped between the two rows of teeth and this can lead to gum disease and infections, as well as bad breath. |
I had it done when mine were spayed and neutered and My vet didnt charge me anything for pulling them. |
Ouch! How painful do you think this is? I'm going to feel so horrible when i drop Mia off for her spay and extraction! I hate to make her go through this! Ive been keeping a close eye on Mia's teeth and so far i don't see any that need to be pulled. She is 5.5 months old and her spay is scheduled for the beginning of June. She had a double row of her two front teeth but thankfully the baby teeth eventually fell out. Is it normally the back molars that have to be extracted? |
Ruby didn't seem to experience any pain from the teeth extraction. She was less active that first night but did eat, so I don't think her mouth was sore at all. It could be that Mia doesn't have any retained. And, it varies as to which teeth are retained, Ruby's were molars, whereas Reno has one canine tooth to be removed - none in the back. |
Winston just had his removed this past week. It was $69.00 for 3 teeth I believe. Winston did fine with the extractions....he was just a little sick from the anesthetia though. As you signature says...about Shih Tzus;)....my 2 shih tzus have never gotten sick from the anesthetia. I am guessing since Winston is so much smaller, it did affect him. He had some vomiting, diahrrea, and shaking. It just lasted a day and then he was back to himself!! Welcome to YT! |
Hot Rod had 14 teeth removed when he was neutered. I think it was about $70-$90. I can't remember for sure. I was just glad that he didn't have to go under 2x. |
