Is there a food.. that can be feed to dogs and cats???? Mine keep eating each others and I cant find a way at this point to fix it. HELP |
Wouldn't that be convinent! I found this article online: Can I feed my cat dog food - Cats FAQ So, basically, I think the answer is no. If I'm wrong, hopefully someone else will come along and post! |
A definate no. Cats and dogs need different formulas |
My dogs would love to eat cat food...but it's simply too much protein. To eliminate them from eating it...the cat food is kept on the counter. I don't think dog food has enough protein for cats. |

Good luck! I hope your pup hasn't discovered the "candy" in the sandbox!! |
Although I know just about everyone will disagree with me, dogs MAY be able to eat cat food. Cats cannot eat dog food long-term because there are less nutrients in it and dog food lacks taurine. Cat food has more protein and fat in it. Some dog owners think their dogs should eat tons of protein anyway. The concern would be if your dog is overweight or had liver or kidneys problems. Your vet probably will tell you not to do this because they just don't know any better. If you are really interested, you could maybe talk to a nutritionist to see if there is a way of doing it safely. |
Dogs and cats have different nutritional needs. I'd just keep them separate at meal time. |
