eye tearing What makes a puppy's eyes tear? Brady's seem like his does it alot, and what do you do for it? Thanks! |
just bumping this up... I am using a warm wet washcloth on his face at night now. Hopefully this will help. |
Hi there. I'm not sure what makes them tear...but I use a baby toothbrush. I first use a soft damp cloth and wipe the eyes...then I use a wet baby toothbrush and use it in a combing motion. It works nice! |

Reese's ears teared a lot...after switching food to wellness, it has completely cleared up. :) |
It can be food allergies, seasonal, an eye infection, ingrown hairs, blocked tear ducts, hair poking into eyes, or hereditary. Not fun, I know. What are you feeding and have you checked the pollen in your area? |
I am feeding Purina Puppy chow. The breeder that I bought him from, had him on can dog food, and she couldn't remember which one it was. That should of been a red flag to me right away. My vet said that we probably saved his life. He was one ounce when he was born, he weighed 1.7 lbs. at 6weeks(first checkup with us), and Monday when he turned 8 weeks old he weighed in at 2.2 lbs. I didn't know what type of dog food to put him on, so I put him on purina. I will switch if it will help. Thanks for all the helpful responses! |
My vet told me to give distilled water for this. It works great!!:) |
hair in eyes Sometimes they have hair growing inside the eyelids you can tweeze them out ask the doc to look |
