best adult dog food I have a Yorkie who is about to turn one on August 11 and I need to start gradually switching her food from puppy chow to an adult food. What brand would you suggest? She doesn't seem to be gaining any weight on this Purina Puppy Chow but she eats all the time. She is a puker so I need to be careful of her sensitive stomach. She doesn't gasp for air or anything so I don't think I will take her to the vet because of the vomiting. Also I am a worrier. I worry about everything. My brother died last year of cancer and then I bought my Yorkie. She has really helped after my brother's death because we were so close. So after reading about vomiting and everything of course I worry that she is going to die any minute now of a collasped throat. |
I'm not sure if any other yt members use it but I feed Oven Baked authority lamb to moose my 6 month old. Though since she is still a puppy I mix it with Royal Canin Puppy. The oven baked is petsmart brand and after compareing in with royal canin and blue bison I was happy with the ingredients and happy it is fairly inexpensive and easy to get. I looked into Merrick (they make Grammies Pot Pie and some others) but it is harder to find. I let her taste innova and wellness and those were no goes, plus I have issues finding them. The oven baked doesn't make her poop smell and it doesn't seem to have any issues on her tummy though moose is a puker at times too, one reason I went with the lamb over the chicken, I've heard lamb is easier on the tummy. Lil Bear my 6yr old eats perscription brand since she has a liver shunt and needs low protein though she also eats a semi-dry dog roll...smells like susage and she loves it I know there are some others yt members that use this. |
If you want to stay on the Purina products, then you might want to consider Purina Pro Plan Lamb and Rice. Your baby will for sure gain weight and the lamb and rice is gentle on the tummy. |
