Does your pup do this? Moose is worrying me a bit. She had her spay July 7 and on the 16th I ran her to the vet cause she sounded like she was having an asmatha attack. The vet said it might be the trache tube still bothering her throat but since she was vomited before we left too she decided to give moose an antibiotic. Moose is ok with the breathing though she will reverse sneeze occasionally, but what worries me is she throws up when she eats sometimes...not every time she eats but maybe once every week or 2, and she throws up after she drinks water too fast or stairs down from the sofa after she drinks. I am going to be calling the vet tomorrow to talk to her but wouldn't mind some insite from my yorkie friends. |
Do they do a trach tube when the spay? I thought it was gas? I didn't think they used a trach tube on yorkies during surgery because of their delicate tracheas. Does ahyone know if this is the norm? |
Yes normally (per the last convo with my vet) they do intubate every dog that comes in for surgery. You need to always talk to your vet about using the smallest trach tube they can. I have asked my vet twice if he couldn't just mask her down and he gave me 2 different answers. I am going to call my former vet at home who is a friend of mine and ask him his opinions on this tho. I was told by my breeder to have them masked down but I am going to ask her about it again. Maybe I just misunderstood what that meant. |
