Logan's ALT and BUN levels and the food he eats I picked up Logan and got a copy of his blood work. His ALT level is 91, and normal is 8-75. His BUN level is 42, and normal is 7-29. When I told the vet tech he's been eating EVO, which is high protein and no grain, she said to get him off of it because a high protein diet could be another reason for his high ALT and BUN levels. She recommended and gave me the Hill's Science Diet puppy small bites food, which I'm not a big fan of. The number one ingredient is Ground whole Grain Corn followed by chicken "by-product meal." What do you think?? |

i think the test results are going to be higher but can't say if its fine or bad. you can get a Bile Acid Test done to see if those results are totally out of whack too. Your right about not wanting to put him on science diet. its terrible food. |
Rainbows level were even higher than yours and she was on EVO. She is now off of it and has another test in the morning |

I am now giving them the plain inovva.. it is only 26% protien as compared to 48 for the EVO |
Just because you take your dog off of EVO which is super high in protein does not mean you have to give science diet. Find another quality food that is lower in protein than EVO and see how it goes. As mentioned before, maybe regular Innova would be better. |
