Kelp / Bone Meal I recently read Dr. Pitcairns book 'Complete guide to health for dog and cats' and found Dog Powder Mix which we have to provide if homecooking: 2 cups nutritional yeast 11/2 cups bone meal 1/2 cup kelp powderer I have no idea what is kelp? Usually I add bone meal but never heard of kelp and yeast stuff which we have to provide if homecooking. Could you please let me know if you give such stuff to your babies? |
Kelp is like seaweed - and VERY nutritionally good for them (and us!). Yeast can be found fairly easily at many grocery stores. Personally, I don't like giving yeast to dogs for many reasons - but I love the idea of kelp! ;) |
Nutritional or brewer's yeast is rich in B vitamins, iron, and other nutrients. Lecithin for linoleic acid, choline, and inositol, which help your animal emulsify and absorb fats, improving the condition of it's coat and digestion. Kelp for iodine and trace minerals. All these can be found in the vitamin stores. I doubt the brewer's yeast can be found in a grocery store. It isn't the type of yeast used for baking. |
BONE MEAL with VITAMIN D Tablets I found human grade bone meal BONE MEAL with VITAMIN D Tablets | Calcium Supplements Supplements | PURITAN'S PRIDE Please let me know if you used it, can I give it to my baby? |
I don't know if giving added vitamin D is a good idea and how much is actually in that supplement. Many people have had success with the KAL Bone Meal. |
