Im Soooooooooooo Mad!!!!:thumbdown so i took Gracie to the vet today because she has been sneezing and coughing so I just wanted to make sure she didnt have kennel cough... (she dosent by the way just hayvever) so we went in and we didnt have Gracies usual vet and she was asking about all of Gracies vaccines if she had them all and I said yes all but the rabies shot because shes still to little... well she agreed with me and then said that she wanted to show Gracie off to everyone in the back... next thing I know she gave Gracie the Rabies shot and another dewormer....:( I wanted to wait until she was at least 6 months... :( am I wrong about being mad? I didnt say anything because I dont like confrontation and it wouldnt have done any good... I thought I had read something on here that we should wait until the last min to give them their rabies shot.... ??? am I wrong? by the way Gracie is only 4 and 1/2 months old... |

You have every right to say something, not pay, get your money back. If it were me, I would be calling the next day to speak w/ the practice manager or whatever - with my talking points in hand....but you know, that's ME. :) |
Oh, I would be PISSED!!! They had absolutely NO right to give your dog any vaccination or dewormer without your permission! If you never wanted to give her a rabies shot, that's up to you (well, it is a law..but a vet can't make you get it). Also, you NEVER give a vaccine unless a dog is 100% healthy. If she has been coughing and sneezing, that means she is not 100% healthy and should NOT be vaccinated. Vaccines are only meant to be given to healthy animals. If her immune system was already compromised, the vaccine could only make it worse. What they did was very wrong and I would definitely say something about it. |

No means no and what part of that didn't they understand?!?!?! Totally out of line, I wouldn't have paid and I would definately complain and maybe shop for a new vet. I would be soooo ticked. |
You were totally disrespected. I am sorry but I don't think I would allow anyone to do that to me or my puppy. I would consider talking to the office manager, your regular vet. That just isn't right. |
I agree, that was totaly out of line! I hope you didn't pay and I strongly urge you to go back and complain! As far as the rabies shot goes, KaCee had hers at 4 months and did fine with it. |

Without my consent, NEVER!! Nothing can be done without your consent, and especially out of your sight... How dare they do what they did, I'd be furious!!! You have the right to decline anything you want!! And you are in your right, to be as upset as you are! |
 Wow! You have the right to be upset, I would be fuming I think the smoke would come out of my ears and the vet would have a black eye. Definitely call the managers and make a complaint. If I were you I would change the vet. |
I would have been so angry. I would not have paid and I would be calling to speak to whoever is in charge. If no one ever says anything, she'll continue to do whatever she wants. She does not have any right to do anything to your dog without your permission and to do something against your wishes is way out of line. How would she have felt if Gracie had had a bad reaction to the shot? |

OH yah! Call and complain! That is so out of line! Wow! I would have kicked some vet butt! |
can you say not paying the bill. They have no right, to do anything with out asking you. And it dose not mean to go ahead and do it after you said NO. I would be looking for another vet. |
