spay time I have a little 7 month old female. I'm not postive on when she will go into heat. I'm trying to find a good place to do it for her. I was going to take her to a humane society to do it but I've heard bad things so thats a negative on that one. The one vet I was going to go isn't great so I'm shopping around hoping I can find a good place any suggestions? Also when is the best time to get her spayed, and how long should she wait to rough house with her dogfriends again? some times i wish she was a boy so i could stud him out and just get his huevos cut off later... Thanx! |
I have boys, so I'm not sure as to the *best* time to get a female spayed - I'll leave that advice to others. I will say, however, that I'd be very choosy about where you get her spayed - bc there are a lot of hacks out there - one of whom operated on my Wylie. So, I learned the hard way. Be picky, ask questions, find out what kind of anesthesia they use etcetera. |
The best time is before the first heat. If she is over 2 lbs. it's supposed to be OK. I was so scared to get Feather spayed I spent a lot of time looking for a Dr. who did minimally invasive spays and yesterday she was spayed and had her 9 retained baby teeth pulled. I am so thankful it is done. She seems to be having some pain in her mouth even with the pain meds but is doing well today. She, of couse did have a heat while I was waiting for her to gain more weight. Chances of mammary cancer increase with each heat |

im in southern california, san gabriel valley. the vet most people went to is Dr. Sung Park. I don't know if anyone has heard good things about him. but ya. |
I'm not near you but you may be able to get a review on him on yelp.com Also ask your vet is he does the laser spay and if he works on a lot of small dogs. I had that done for Lucy and she had no outside stitches and was back to herself the next day! Her scar was just a little over an inch and it's invisible now :) |
