Ear Scratching! And more….. Ear Scratching! And more….. My little ‘Tink’ (Tinkerbell) is now 15 weeks old but she has a ‘good old scratch’ of her ears a couple of times in the day! I have asked the vet twice, when I have taken her for her jabs etc to look at her ears, nothing there, they do not smell…etc…etc. Family keep saying it is where the hair in her ears is growing and tickling in her. Do you think this is right? Also she will try to eat anything she finds, I caught yesterday chewing wood in the garden, leaves off the plants, you name it, I find it in her mouth! She has been wormed three times now, with cream ‘stuff; the vet gave her. Last time being a couple of days ago, so I am sure it is nothing to do with worms……if only she would eat her meals in the same way! Apart from this little ‘Tink’ is coming on great, very happy, lovely little girl, spoilt silly, as they all should be! She does have a love for a peeled fresh, uncooked carrot and apples! Strange little thing x x Thank you, Lesley and Tinkerbell PS Forgot to say, she is often found pooking her tongue out! Is this normal with little Yorkies? (I have only had a 'Pom' and an Irish wolfhound in the past) |
It very well could be that she does have hair poking out of her ears and its itching her. I know you said the vet looked at her ears, and they don't smell, but did the vet do a ear swab, to see if she may have mites? Just a thought. With her being a pup, I think all pups go through the exploring of having to know what everything is, so they will chew on everything! LOL My furkids love apples and raw baby carrots too!!! I had a pup who did that too, always had her tongue sticking out, when she sat there, now that she is older, every once in a while I will see it sticking out! LOL!! Sounds like you are really enjoying your baby! |
Awww precious Tink! I hope you and your vet can determine what is her ear problem or at least rule out anything treatable. The little ones explore so much and try to eat everything! Keep an eye on her and enjoy her. She'll grow up soooo fast! :) |
