Should I switch...? Penny eats Innova puppy kibble mixed w/ merrick's canned puppy plate.(she will not eat kibble alone) I am running out of food and was going to switch. But since she is eating it ok with no problem, should I just keep her on it? ( also I buy the puppy plate by the case and as a case you only get one flavor)Like the saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it" LOL. Just wondering if there is anything better? I went thru alot trying to decide on a food. A friend that owns a pet store reccommended Innova. She also has been using it for years. But I guess everyone reccommends what they use. I want to feed her healthy and thought I was. Is what I am using healthy enough for her? I could use some advice.:) |
If it works then stick to it. The innova is a good food and so is the merricks. Sometimes you change them you get tummy upset or they hate the food. |
I wouldn't feed either, so yes I would switch but if you like the mix, then stay with it.:) |
have you tried the merrick kibble and adding a little water fot gravy? |

I feed solely the merricks kibble. It can make a nice gravy if you add a bit of warm water. If I recall correctly the innova was on the upper levels of kibble. There are people on here that either hate or like kibble. Personally I don't have the time to home cook...so kibble works for me. I am although contemplating a change to NV Raw. |

Homecooking is not for everyone... I like Wellness kibble (right now that is:rolleyes: ) and Evangers or Canidae canned. The thought of recalls really scares me though. |

If that's why (only), then sure - there are some better ones. But, how far is she from adulthood - bc you'll probably do a switch then - so perhaps it'd be better to wait rather than do 2 switches? If interested in brand switching at that time, you might consider Nature's Variety, Wellness, Evangers, Wysong, Orijen. Or, you could begin to switch partly over by introducing a puppy kibble in the same brand that you'd ultimately like to end up with (NV is usually all life stages). |
Penny is 3 1/2 mos. old. That was the only reason for switching. I think I will wait.:) |
