Has she been to the vet since you got her? Some puppies come with fleas and ear mites or can pick them up at your vet's office. Your vet can easily check for them.

The thing to look for is "flea dirt" which is the digested blood excreted by the fleas. It looks like coarse pepper grains. The best place to see it is on her rump near her tail. If you see the specks, try wetting them with a Q-tip. If it is flea dirt, it will turn blood red.

u o wat now that u mention that she does bring her paws over by the outside of her ears n scratches. she also bites like her "thighs" n hind paws. omg!! is this something serious??? wat happens if she does have them?

yes she has been to the vet. n u no wat? she does happen to bring her paws over by the back of her ears n scratches. she also bites by her "thighs" on her hind legs. omg!! wat if she does have them? is this something serious? how do i get rid of them? n how do i no if i can bathe her or not?

Hmm, if it is around the ears at this age (and the thights), I'd really wonder about mange/mites.

I would get her re-checked by the vet and really describe the symptoms. As for the food, I'm glad you're getting something in the little stinker - as they do need to eat frequently at this age. But, I'd really develop a plan here - bc what usually happens after extended use of chicken is an extended bout of diarrhea (at least, it's seen often here). What you're feeding now just isn't balanced - so eventually, your girl's system will really get out of whack.

So, hang in there and maybe start mixing in a premium canned and/or premium kibble with the chicken - like, mix in 50/50 or so - do you have some access to good brands then?

i tried giving her hills science diet and she really wud not eat it. I mean shes better now in terms of her attitude (she seemed upset before) so i will try to give her some today. She actually ate maybe 5 kibbles yesterday. We are making progress day by day lol.

Are those dangerous?? The vet should be giving me a call tmw and i will tell him the symptoms then. I hope he tells me wats going on....

The baby food meats are just fine for her. Make sure you do give her some vitamins as well. You can also try adding just a tiny bit of strained baby food carrots and green beans. Also try her on just plain tuna and salmon out of the pouch or fresh from the meat counter. Try her on goat cheese too. As long as you keep her eating, she will soon get very used to having a tummy full and will continue good eating habits. ;)

The problem would need to be fixed immediately and one kind of mange is very hard to get rid of but try not to worry too much til you talk to the vet.

What kind of vitamins???? And u said to try some carrot n green peas gerber food?? I also have bought her beef and i think lamb gerber baby food. Im scared to keep mixing all these foods tho, cuz i dont want to give her an upset stomach.

Hi, how is little Abby doing now? I didn't read all the posts but hopefully she is eating good and has she started to eat the kibble yet? I have some suggestions if you would like to know some of what we did when Baby Blessing first came home with us, she was the worlds pickiest eater :eek: oh my gosh what a time we had but now you sure wouldn't know it. LOL.
I am so happy you found this site cause there are so many wonderful folks here at Yorkie Talk that are ready and willing to help if they can. Have you posted any pictures of Abby? If you need any help doing that am sure someone would be right and ready to help you there too :) I give a little bit of nutri-cal to Prairie Bea still several times a day.

Tiny Kibbles
 
Sorry for the double post here. Have you been getting the tiny kibbles? I would take scooper and break up the kibbles lots smaller so ours could eat them easier when they were a young one such as Abby is. Many times when the kibbles is smaller it is so much easier for them to eat. I also would chop up bit of carrot into real tiny pieces and mix in with the chopped kibbles, also bit of cottage cheese mixed in to coat the kibbles sometimes can entice them to eat better in the beginning. Sure hope to hear that she is eating better and doing real good. Patti and Jack

Have you tried a really high quality natural food? Mine LOVES the Wellness Puppy kibble, but I had to mix the canned with it for the first couple weeks before he developed a really good eating habit. Go to the holistic pet food section at the pet store and maybe pick up a can or two of the puppy formula and see if she'll eat that.

I know you're probably overwhelmed with this now but Science Diet isn't exactly the best food to give her. Try to find something more natural if you can (or want to). Wellness, Innova, Chicken Soup, Solid Gold, etc. Good luck!!
