Question About Brushing/Petzlife I just got a puppy a week ago & I'm wondering should I brush her teeth with a toothbrush & toothpaste OR Petzlife Oral Care? How frequent would I have to do brush/paste or Petzlife? & do I rinse after? Also is Petzlife safe for puppies? Should I use gel or spray? Sorry for all of the questions, but thanks for any help. :) |

I hope someone can correct me if I'm wrong but that is my plan. |
Either way is fine but I prefer toothpaste, not Petzlife. You do not rinse their mouth after either. |
I use the paste and spray together. I'll do the spray every day and brush every two or three days. It seems to be working well, and if you can't seem to commit to brushing the spray is a better way to go than doing nothing at all :) If you are thinking of ordering it, go with the regular paste. I got the salmon flavor and Tucker hates it! Hope that helps :) |
PetzLife appears to be a dud! I had Keno's teeth professionally cleaned last year and used Petzlife for the past 9 months to maintain that cleanliness. But alas, I have found that Petzlife is not as good as they claim. I now have to schedule her again for another cleaning. There is so much plaque built up on her back teeth, it is unbelievable. And I used the spray and gel daily for 9 months. I am so disappointed. Keno eats dry kibble, no wet food at all. |

That's what I plan on doing too, dry kibble & Petzlife spray. Did you brush her teeth too? |

I brush my baby's teeth as well as use Petz Life Gel 2-3 times a week. You do not rinse. It is suggested to use before they go to bed at night as they shouldn't eat or drink right after you apply. |
I really love the Petzlife oral gel. We've been using it and the vet said Sheba's teeth are fine except he mentioned that I may have slacked on my "strict" regimen. Sheba won't let me use a toothbrush in her mouth and I don't know if just spraying it in her mouth will do well enough so I bought a rough towel...you know those ones that no matter how much fabric softener you use it won't get soft? I cleaned it with no soaps and then cut it into little 2" strips and I put the Oralgel on it and use my finger. The rough towel isn't as invasive as a toothbrush and lets me feel every tooth. Good Luck!:animal-pa |
