Chicken & Rice?? should you feed chicken and Rice everyday- or about everyday?? I have fed him about 1/4 cup - 1 or 2 times a day for a few days! he also has some dry(chicken soup) I have the feed that to him by hand!! Today he got the poops?? What's up w/ that?? Maybe meds?? Even w/ chicken and rice??? |
Hmmm... well, are you supplementing too? Is he sick, is that why the chicken and rice? He could be allergic to chicken - or it could be that the diet isn't balanced correctly. What are the meds? |
Banjo had a chipped bone in his back leg repaired last Tue. he is one several med's- and they can cause tummy problems! That is why I was feeding him the chicken and rice, to try and avoid the poops!:D he also get some dry, but never has ate that good! And he gets peanut butter, about 1/2 tbsp. 2 times a day- with his meds- and as a treat! Then he gets a couple of little all natural bone treats from the pet store, or yorkie yummies!! He likes to eat- and he loves his treats, but I try and control them!! I have been feed ing him this since last Thur- no problems untill today!! |
Bump! Everyday- a sm. amount- is this ok????? |
Did the Vet tell you to do the Chicken and rice? When Milo had his surgery, they told us chicken and rice for a few days then back to regular food, you might wan't to double check with the Vet. The last thing you need is the poops on top of everything else. |
It's okay but I'd lean more toward giving him canned dog food because there are vitamins and minerals in it and he needs them to heal. Chicken and rice is fine, especially when they are sick but I wouldn't do it alone for more than a week or two and I'm not sure I'd give very much at all after surgery. So, it's okay but he needs vitamins/minerals right now. |
Ellie May!! i have been waiting for you answer!!!:D Ok, I will try and find some decent can in town today!! He has been eating dry- Chicken soup for puppies, also! Not just chicken and rice!! We don't have a lot of options for good dog food in town!! I have never fed him any canned at all! Thank you for your reply!!!:) |
