Success with Raw Lucy has finally settled in and eating raw now! She likes the Nature's Variety Chicken. I'm so happy she eats it because she is so picky I was running out of options. So, my question for those who feed raw, how many do you give your baby a day? I'm giving her 2 of the 2 oz. per day. Is this enough? |
yay! I give Lacy 4 medallions a day and she's 7.5lbs |
I know, I'm so excited to have her on a healthy diet! I think I'm going to up it to 3 per day. She doesn't really go for any treats so this is about all she eats unless I scramble her an egg on occasion. |
How do you keep her face clean? I feed kibble in the morning and I try to feed canned at night but only if I have time to wash faces. They get SO messy with it. Fresh cooked food isn't as messy, but I'd expect raw to be as messy as canned? |

Jamie is on NV Raw too and he's been really good about eating it IF I keep switching up the protein source. I guess he gets bored easily. I haven't really found it to be messy. I do feed on a plate though and not in a bowl (because Mr. Particular doesn't like to stick his face into a food bowl, even when he was eating kibble). Congratulations on getting Miss Lucy to like her food! |
Thanks! I haven't found it messy at all. She doesn't get any on her face... |

I thought Blaze was the only one. He is affraid of the bowls, wont even go near it. I could put his food in a bowl and it would sit there all day. He has to eat off of a plate. But strangely enough, he drinks water from a bowl. We can not figure that one out. We give Blaze 4 medallions a day (he is only 6 months old) and Autumn gets 3 she is 1 1/2 yrs old at 5lbs! Good luck w/the raw! |

LOL! Jamie will DIVE into a bowl of water and his face will come out SOAKED but he won't even think about eating out of a bowl. I don't get it either. When he was eatin kibble, he would just take his paw and knock in onto the floor and eat it but I didn't want the raw getting on his paws or my floor so I just got him a plate. He is definitely Momma's silly boy! |

Yay, Lucy!!!!!! I give Marcel (3.2 pounds) 1 1/3 medallion per meal (2 meals per day). Wylie (7.5 pounds) gets 2 medallions per meal. |
i asked about this in another post but didn't get much response...maybe i'll have better luck here. I'm very interested in starting Bailey on NV Raw diet but i was wondering if its necessary to give them any extra supplements or veggies? |

Mine each eat 4 oz a day. Kalina is 5#12oz and lost weight when I cut back. She could probably make due with 3 1/2 ozs, but she's very active so I stick with 4. Matty also eats 4 ozs. She is 3#4oz, but she's still growing. I notice she is getting full now and can't quite finish it all, so I'll probably start cutting back. She is very active and not at all fat. I give them each 2 oz in the morning and 2 oz at dinnertime. It doesn't seem like much, does it? |

I don't give them anything except the raw nuggets. Kalina does get 1/4 tsp of Missing Link but Matty does not. I give my girls Primal frozen nuggets and they contain the following: Beef, Beef Hearts, Beef Livers, Ground Beef Bones, Organik Kale, Carrots, Yams, Broccoli, Apples, Cranberries, Apple Cider Vinegar, Parsley, Coconut Oil, Kelp, Alfalfa, Salmon Oil, Garlic and Grapefruit Seet Extract. That's just an example for the beef - the other meats have different vegis and fruits in them. Matty has been on raw since she was 12 weeks old and she is doing just great. Hope that helps a little bit. |

Dogs are carnivores - they don't need veggies.:) They can even be hard for them to digest. Giving a piece of carrot or something as a treat is ok, but they don't NEED them. |
