Petsmart Hair Cut Ok so I am thinking about taking Daisy to Petsmart to get her hair trimmed, they have a puppy package. I have seen several threads about not wanting to trim the body hair until they reach a certain age, should I just have them trim the feet and face area? I will want to keep her with a puppy cut. Thoughts? Thanks! :) :animal-sm |
I don't think a little trim on the body will hurt. But definitely have them trim the feet (between the toes) and by the boo-tay (butt). |
Great! Thanks! |
Petsmart I used to live in Katy, TX near Houston. Two pets, that I KNOW of, died from being left in the dryer box that Petsmart uses to dry the babies. They were left in there too long. Myself, I would NEVER take any of my babies to Petsmart. |
Oh how sad, well they said I could stay with her for the whole process so I am hoping that makes a different, I didn't want to leave her alone with anyone. |
OK Good that they said that. This happened three years ago and surely they are more careful now, but PLEASE stay with her ! |
I went to Petsmart and Sparky got the puppy package, where in live in Va. they trim face ,butt, nails, shave belly ,shampoo they wouldnt touch his coat for 15.00 it only took alittle over a hour!!I was pleased. |
Great! Thanks for everyone's feedback. |
$15 that's a great deal for puppy. |
PetsMart Grooming I take my older dog, Minnie, to PetsMart. I pay an additional $10 to have her express groomed. It's so worth it. She is really picky so she gets grouchy. I wanted to make sure they wouldn't mistreat her in the back or even worse by in the same back room with 20 barking dogs. I am going to take Chloe their when she is ready but pay the extra $10. |
I WOULD NEVER TAKE MY PUPPY TO GET A HAIR CUT A PET SMART.AT LEAST WHERE I LIVE. :thumbdown |
I took Mojo to petsmart 3 times...and everytime i was sorry i did!! And they were not cheap either...now a found a groomer by my house, and sooooooo much nicer, faster and have better prices... |
Mommy groomer I decided when I got my first yorkie, Latte, that I would groom her myself. I got a video and some books and I keep her in a somewhat non-professional puppy cut. I also really trim her booty and shave her ears. all I had to do was buy a beard timmer and some nice sharp hair shears. We think she looks great, and it's free. I only pay $5 to have her nails trimmed at the vet. (sorry ther's two of these. I can't delete! |

I just took my puppy to Petsmart and I thought they did a good job. I have no complaints. |
hey, any groomer that can handle rex is the groomer for me. i didnt stay with him but i peered trough that huge window and saw him. he wasnttied to that rope theng. the lady was holding him gently and snipping his paw hairs. no complaints here |
I have heard many horror stories about groomers in general. If you decide to go there you would be wise to take a picture of the cut you like. Then cross your fingers and hope it comes out sorta like what you wanted. In my state there is no license required to be a groomer, just a pair of scissors or a clipper. Have you considered a mobile groomer? I am probably way too picky, I do all of my own grooming. |
It turned out ok! It took about an hour and they let me stay there the entire time. I will take her pic and post. I need to go get some new batteries for my digital camera, been using it a lot lately, LOL! |
I took Gucci to petsmart by me and haven't had any problems, they did a good job, I paid about 48.00 or so with the 10.00 extra package included. I use to go to another pet groomer until they shaved her and cut her neck, I had to take her to vet, but luckily she didnt need stiches just a butterfly bandgage , but it was a terrible experience and I never took her back. |
