Emma has pink-eye! It's a cruddy, rainy day here, and we just got back from the vet. Emma's eye looked a little red yesterday, and we noticed she was scratching it, but then it looked better so we thought it was just irritated. Today, she woke up from a nap, and her eye was swollen and crusted almost shut :( I called and took her straight to the vet (good thing I'm off work today!), and they got us right in-one more reason I love the new vet! The vet said it started as an eye infection, and then since it itched, her eye is red and a little scratched around the outside of her eye. They gave us eye drops and antibiotic pills-and said I could use both on Milli if she started having the same symptoms too. I thought that was nice-they won't make me pay for another vet visit like our other clinics did. I'm worried Milli's going to get it too, DH said she was so worried while we were gone, sitting by the door and whining, and looking all over the house for us. :( Milli loves her fursister so much-she was checking Emma over to make sure she was ok right when we got home. |
Get Well, Emma.:getwellso That pinkeye just has to keep making the rounds--animals, students, adults. Eons ago;) when I was growing up, our cats would get it, and in no time us kids would have it. Luckily current meds help clear it up in a short fashion. |
aww, I will keep Emma in my thoughts for her eye to get better soon! good thing you were off today to take her to the vet! |
Oh Emma, I hope your eye feels better real soon! |
Awwww poor Emma. Feel better soon sweetie.:getwellso |
Oh Emma.. feel better soon bella. I had NO idea that dogs could get pink eye Did the vet say how she could have gotten it? |
Emma, hope your eye is better really soon! How sweet Milli was worried about her sissy!! |
Emma says thank you everyone! She is resting with DH right now...I think the meds make her a little tired. On top of that, Milli has diarrhea :( I think it's due to the pizza crust DH fed them yesterday even after I told him not to-that grease is just hard on Milli's tummy. Emma has a tummy of steel and could eat anything, just like my DH, LOL, but Milli's more sensitive. I told him next time if he feeds her something and I tell him not to, HE can clean up runny poops at 4, 6, and 8 AM! :thumbdown She's acting normal, and eating and drinking ok, so I think she'll be fine. Her last poop was not as solid as normal, but better than before. I fed them both steamed fish, brown rice, and green beans for dinner hoping a bland meal would be good for both of them. |

We keep wiping off her eye because the gunk keeps building up. Yucky, and I bet it hurts her too :( We have to put drops in 3 more times today-the vet wanted us to really get that antibiotic in there to get it cleaned out and Emma feeling better. |
i hope she gets well soon. |
Poor Emma! So glad you have a new vet you like. Hopefully the medicine works! Tell Milli to stay away from her Dad and his treats  - I'm surprised you didn't kick him put of bed to clean up the mess :D You were off on St. Patty's day - is your boss Irish :D Hope tomorrow is much better! - silly me I was thinking that tomorrow was St. Urho's Day - but that was Sunday - I should have worn purple :p |
Poor Emma, I'm so sorry. :( Get well soon. :nursing: |
