stress and hair loss Our fur baby Baxter got a little brother (of the human kind) last month. Unfortunately the new baby has a severe milk allergy and screams most of the day and requires a lot more attention. Prior to the new baby's arrival Baxter was our world. Though he is an excellent big brother, we have noticed that he is sad lately, understandably so. Now it seems his hair is falling out in clumps. We do our best to give him attention, I even play fetch while I'm feeding the other baby. I don't know what to do to help my fur baby. If anyone else has gone through this or has any advise we would be grateful to hear from you. :( |
They can lose hair from stress but first what is he eating and how old is he? |
He is a year old and is on science diet small bites. |
Could you change the food to something more natural? Canidae, Wellness? Has your vet ran blood work? For the thyroid in particular? |
He hasn't been tested. He sees the vet at the end of the month for his well visit. |
I'd change food and ask your vet then. They might want to run blood work. |
thanks :) |
I disagree with Ellie May. I think he's had enough changes to deal with. I would wait to talk to your vet about changing his food. Changing it right now might just stress him more. I do definately agree about the blood work though. Just give him as much love as you possibly can until he sees the vet |
Poor baby. I hope he feels better soon :( |
