Do you think dehydrated chicken strips are safe? I love to give my 3 babies treats but it seems everything they like you all say is bad for them and I am not willing to take chances. I thought I was safe with the sweet potatoes wrapped in chicken strips but then someone said they can choke on them too. What about the dehydrated chicken strips, not rawhide but they say they are pure chicken. Anyone know anything about them? |
I got some once, but it was right after the China treat scare and I had already thrown the package away and didn't know where they were made, so I pitched them. They smelled wonderful - 100% chicken. I was a bit concerned about the toughness of them but we cut them up in little tiny pieces. |
I stopped giving them to mine because of they look so hard to digest, and mine were made in china |

do not give them they have some that have been making pets terribly ill |
Last night I picked up some tenderloin strips. Not good. The one Yorkie I allowed to have one under supervision never chewed a piece off. It became one long stringy mess. Don't understand why, though. Would have choked on it if I hadn't been holding onto it. Most of the time I buy chicken/duck strips and cut them into tiny pieces for rewards. |
My kids LOVED them. Every single one that I have purchased says Made in China in tiny letters. There was only 1 once that wasn't made in China that I got at a feed store and they no longer carry it and I forgot the manufacture.:( :( :( :( :( |
I've heard stories to both. personally I think they might be okay for big dogs but they always look like the little guys would choke on them. but that's just me. |
Ive given them to my dogs and they love them and never choked on them. However I would keep an eye out for that 'made in china' also... |
That was one of Buddy's favorite treats, however, I stopped buying them when I realized every single brand that I saw was made in China. It's been about 3 months since he has had any and I will not buy them anymore. I wish I could find a USA brand but there does not seem to be any out there. I have checked three pet stores and they are all made in China! |
chicken Mine vomited and had loose stools after chewing them once..no more for them...I give a few bites of fresh chicken with no problems... |
I've given Bitsy and the cats the PureBites freeze dried chicken bits and have never had a problem. All my girls love it. |

You could also peel and steam or boil sweet potato and give that. It is safe to do it that way. |
