I didn't see it on the last recall list that someone posted here last week, so I thought that is was OK. My last Yorkie had allergies so I thought this would be a good choice to start my new puppy on.

I feed Maggy May Wellness Just For Puppies and she does WONDERFUL on it!

mine are mainly on raw but they get kibbles once in a while. I rotate between wellness core and orijen. I just prefer grain free for my babies and they do so well on it.

My babies are on NV Raw and are doing absolutely WONDERFUL on it. I don't see us EVER switching ;)

They also get green beans a few times a week after dinner as a snack to help them feel full.

If you would like to try out the Life's Abundance, i have free samples. It has never been on a recall list and all the ingredients are from only trusted American Sources. THere is no wheat, corn or by-products. My girls love it and it is all healthy ingredients.:thumbup:

I have been using Canidae (kibble and wet) all stages, for almost 2 yrs now...They love it! I just recently started mixing Merricks Grammys Pot Pie kibbles with the Canidae to give them a little variety. Sadie has NEVER just eaten dry food,....I leave a small bowl of dry down for them along with their dry/wet mix and she will sometimes eat just the dry...I'm looking for a different wet food though...I think they are getting bored with the Canidae wet. I tried Merricks but, because of the gravy they end up with very loose stools and they get a messy face and stinky..

Chester does very well with solid gold and no recalls and they tested as well just to be sure

Canidae has had no recalls and Wellness hasn't either but the Wellness canned is made at Menu, so I wouldn't use the canned perconally.

I know that lawsuit is scary but really all dog food companies could potentially be sued. The problem is they say their food is human grade but that can be misrepresentation because there is NO SUCH THING. Food is either "fit for human consumption" or "unfit for human consumption". Unless I saw the words "fit for human consumption" on a bag on dog food, I wouldn't consider it safe for humans. It is all in marketing, so it is important to ask the company specific questions. Most, if not all, dog food meat is left over. Just because it is a premium brand doesn't mean that the meat isn't diseased. This is ONE of the reasons why so many companies are getting sued, I believe.

They are just misrepresenting themselves in different ways to make the product look better.

ohk i have a 5 month baby yorkie and she is a doll! We had heard that iams was hurting dogs for testing the food. So I switched to Canidae! My yorkie loves it.

She is not saying it is fit for human. Dogs have diff. digestive system than us. They are immune to most bacterias that we can't. If you are feeding raw, just get the best quality meat that you can get or the best brand that is well known. I am not gonna tell people what to feed but mine are on raw and they are doing well. They also get high quality kibbles like wellness and orijen too. I would say do what is best for your babies to the OP.:)

What I am saying is 99% - 100% of dog food is NOT fit for human consumption. Any of it could be recalled and any of the companies could be sued. That is why you have to trust the company. The same applies to raw food for dogs. It is still dog food meat and the meat can still be diseased UNLESS they are willing to say it is fit for human consumption.

And even meat fit for human consumption can still be recalled...
