Other than chicken?? I think Rocky is getting tired of chicken breast. I give him Salmon once a week, but I think he is slowly getting tired of it. I made oatmeal with water and he loved it. Is it good for him? What other meat can I give him thats good for him? Best quality. I stuck to chicken breast because it has least fat and its high in protein. He also loves to chew on rice cakes that I love, so he joins everytime I crunch away. They are lightly salted. Would salt be bad for him?? even if its minimal amounts. I give him small bites, he gets so protective of them, almost as if its a bone. Also, is it ok to give him a chicken bone, say a leg. I gave it to him once and he became a lion. Loved it. But I am afraid him swallowing a small peace of bone if he breaks it somehow. Thanks. |
i also give lexi beef and veggies.. she likes oatmeal too, for breakfast.. she gets a well balanced diet everyday, i think. |
I cook mine lean ground beef with either rice or pasta and veggies |
I have a girlfriend who has two Great Danes and she's home cooked for them forever b/c of allergies~ she gets them turkey breast cutlets from Trader Joe's usually. |
Layla gets beef, veal, lamb, tuna, salmon. it can be hard to find but you can also feed rabbit or venison. |
Sometimes I use ground turkey. It comes in little 1 lb tubs and it is not too expensive. |
Ellie only gets small amounts of salt when I give her a bite of what I'm eating. All the salt she needs is in her supplement. They need a certain amount but too much can cause kidney problems. You can give lean beef, exotic meat or turkey. Turkey is controversial but I see no problem giving it lean (white meat only...no skin). Beef is one of the biggest allergens, so I don't know if that is a problem for you. Cottage cheese is okay in small amounts. Egg is also fine. Ellie has been eating only egg for protein lately. |
How do you cook the egg? |

I find boiling easiest because I know they aren't too oily or buttery then. Eggs can be an allergen (jsut like chicken and beef) though. |
She doesn't have a problem with chicken or beef but this will help to add protein to her diet instead of too much Pedigree. Thanks, |
If you want to feed eggs, you could just scramble the egg whites. I make them for myself and Max loves to have the leftovers! |
Have never done just egg whites. Will try it. I did make Tricksie 1/2 of a boiled egg with peas, carrots and brown rice. She is loving it. |
how about Lamb? most pups do so well on it. |
