Blueberries Does anyone know if blueberries are okay to feed to yorkies? I put blueberries in my cereal this morning and Maya and Scooter were staring at me as if to say "Where's my blueberries?". I was also wondering about other berries like strawberries, raspberries and blackberries. |
Those are all fine in small amounts.:) |
Blueberries are one of the ingredients in our dog food so they should be fine :D The other berries I've never seen on any bad lists but wonder if the seeds might be bad  |

Seeds are fine it your dog doesn't have a problem with them. I give Ellie strawberries sometimes. Cucumber also has seeds and she gets those. I think it's whatever you're comfortable giving. |
I had a couple of Springer Spaniels that would littlerly lay under the Blackberry Bushes and eat of and on all day on them, they where adicted  it didn seem to affect them ! |
my babies love berries.. especially strawberries.. so i share them sometimes when i have them around =D |
I see lots of foods and treats w/ blueberries listed as the ingredients, so.... As with any think you are feeding for the first time, I would recommend only feeding a few at first at a time when you can watch them closely. They can have an allergic reaction to just about anything...better safe than sorry. |
All fruit berries are just fine. ;) I add berries to their non-fat plain yogurt. Dog's have a sweet tooth just like us, and is why they love the berries. |
Thanks everyone for all your experience and knowledge about the berries! |
