I know there are several ppl on here that really like the results. I don't feed the YT specific formula, but do feed Eukanua as part of the regular diet for ours and have no complaints. It's just important to keep in mind that what may be best for one dog may not be right for the next.:) |
I like Nature's Recipe. They have a lot of different formulas to choose from and my dogs love it. It's also graded and 99% on the dog food grading scale thing that someone posted a long time ago. I feed Nature's Recipe Easy to Digest because my two have gastro problems but I'm thinking of trying the terrier formula. It costs about the same your paying for Eukanuba, but it's a 20 lb bag, not 10. I think we pay about $25 for 20 lbs. |

Mine had that issue with science diet(food would sit there). Now Im trying DVP natural balance from petco. I also ordred Artemis, just waiting on it. He has eaten the natural balance more than the science diet but I still dont think hes eating as much as he should be. |

As for EUK, I would never, ever feed it. 1) Fillers galore (hello allergy potential! been there, done that :)) 2) Iams/EUK was busted big time for cruelty in their animal testing on dogs - that alone would stop me dead in my tracks. Deplorable. What are some of the brands at Petco/Petsmart? Have you thought about Eagle Pack - it is a better food (not the best, imo), but often a bit less pricey. :) |

Shocking though how many people claim to be non supporters of Iams/Eukanuba because the don't buy their food, but support them in many other ways... It's like only sticking to your guns and taking a stand when it's 'convenient.' |

The fact that PETA was the driving force behind the footage, for me, makes it even more reliable bc they are so vigilant about what they put out there, PRECISELY because of preconceived suspicions like the one you're stating above.^^^^ :D |

I believe that it wasn't actually Iams conducting the testing, but a research company they contracted out to do it for them? Funny thing you should mention that the Iams company is making efforts to correct the situation, not to mention they've paid out a ton of $$ to charities that promote animal wellfare since...another case of the good (their efforts to right a wrong) being overshadowed by the bad, I suppose. I completely understand people not wanting to support the company for the role it played in the ordeal. But I ask again, how many people REALLY have pulled their support from the company in ALL areas. Not just refusing to buy the food. IMO, it's easy to talk the talk of not supporting a company, but then if you turn around and support them in other ways...KWIM? |

Good for them for donating money, bc they owe it, imo, to the animals upon whose backs they built their fortunes, and got dirty bc of it. That doesn't mean they've earned my purchasing power back, nor does it change my opinion of their ingredients. That's really all I have to say about this - because I don't want to get into one the circular arguments that this kind of thing attracts for some people. |

Bama, you and I have discussed this before so I will just say again- we all do the best we can but not being able to do EVERYTHING is not an excuse for doing NOTHING. Responsibility does not only lie with the leaders of our countries or with those who have been appointed or elected to do a particular job. It lies with each of us individually. -His Holiness the Dalai Lama |
