Innova users... I found a site that would door to door deliver the Innova (or any other brand they have) for about 2$ per ounce. Is this comparable to store cost? The site is http://www.gooberpetdirect.com and I have never heard of them before. I live in the East Valley of Phoenix, Az and the other stores that carry Innova are not super close. Just wondering about cost effectiveness. Thanks in Advance! |

Okay, my head is spinning with all the feeding choices for my babies! I just looked at the Old Mother Hubbard website (and the Wellness line) and I like that they use HUMAN grade ingredients. Just when I *think* I have selected the right food ie:Innova, I find another one that seems to me to be a better option. Nobody said this would be easy! I went into the petstore and the 'pet specialist' assured me that Avoderm was the BEST I could get... that it was a premium food utilizing only the finest ingredients... so I bought it... it looks like captain crunch cereal, and has just about as much grain in it... :P Now, I have to start from square one. The babies LOVED the Eukanuna and the Royal Canin... but they itched and had stinky farts... *giggle* They are turning their noses up at the Avoderm... I had to add egg and garlic to it to get them to even eat part of it. *sigh* |
off the topic. I just wanted to say hi! I see you are fairly new to YT. I am Lisa. I am also an RN and am about to be 44~ Small world. I feed Bella Innova free feed. She eats about one bowl every 3 days. I have it out mainly to give her something crunchy if she wants it. I feed her main meals The honest kitchen which is dehydrated raw food twice a day. it is reconstituted with hot water but not boiling to protect all the natural enzymes in the food. it has like chicken, potatoes, rosemary bananas, alfalfa or ganinc flaxseed, celery, sweet potatoe,apples, yogurt, basil, garlic,papayas cabbage, green beans, honey, kelp, zucchini. it is free of wheat, sugar and salt. it smells like thanksgiving dressing. she loves it. sometimes i mix in a teaspoon of cottage cheese. For her teeth she gets bully sticks to chew on and of course the innova if she wants it. |
Bella used to be a lil smelly gassy girl on royal canin but that is all gone now. honest kitchen uses human grade food too. they are their own food testers! |

I do know about garlic... it is only toxic when given in LARGE doses on a regular basis. I am careful to use just enough to add a bit of scent/flavor. I will not use it once we find a food that is palatable to the babies without it. |
I went thru the food thing, too. My head was spinning. I, too found Innova. Then when I settle on a food something else appeals to me. But Penny is doing good on Innova puppy mixed w/ canned. I leave dry out when I am at work. But she never eats it dry. I just decided I won't change her food again. I do give her variety with her canned, though.:D |
Although I would never ever feed bella garlic on my own. I trust the honest kitchen to know what is safe. |
