Tomorrow is Shelby's surgery..... Wish us luck!!
 
Tomorrow is Shelby's surgery. (Lp on both rear legs) She is sound asleep with Seymour & DH in bed. I can't sleep. My stomach is in knots and every muscle and bone in my body hurts. I know that it is my nerves. I am so scared for her.
Please think of Shelby tomorrow..... and wish her luck. Lots of prayers would be great, too!!! (maybe a couple for me....... I am such a mess!!)

I will post when we get back (which may not be until Friday). Talk to you all soon!.................. and also TY to all those who have been so helpful in preparing us for this.

Thanks again eveyone!!!..... Well... Here WE GO!..... It is early (6:00 am), but we have a long drive to get there. She has to be there before 9AM. I am running on about 4 1/2 hours of sleep. Hopefully we will be able to find a hotel early, so I can try to rest. It is going to be a long day. Little Seymour is going with us (for moral support ;) ...... and so I can give lots of hugs).
Shelby is in rare form. She is running around the house with her "gingerbread man" and trying to get our attention..... she keeps running to the closet that her food is in. I know that she is hungry....but I waited as late as I could and she had her food at 9 pm last night.. maybe she will be able to have a small bite of something later today (she usually is a very good eater...... like her Mama!! :p )

I better go and give as much attention to the princess that I can.... maybe I can keep her mind off FOOD!!

We just arrived at the hotel........ and I am in luck.... internet service!!!!! :D I will try to post this afternoon. They will be calling me after Shelby is finished with her surgery. I am still a mess. Seymour is too. He just looks so lonesome without his big sissy. Be back later.:animal-pa

Update on Shelby..... she is out of surgery!!
 
Just to let you know that I have heard from Shelby's nurse and she is finished with her surgery and resting comfortably. She came out of the anesthesia fine. They said that she was snuggling on a soft warmed mat with her soft fleece blanket. I will be calling them at 9:00 am in the morning to arrange picking her up (after meeting with the doctor for more care instructions and rehab orders).

TY YT'ers for the encouraging words and prayers for Shelby. Keep those well wishes coming.... that she may have a comfortable night and that the meds that they give her keep from too much pain.

Also....... we had a terrible ice storm today.... I am so glad that we are staying here overnight (within 10 miles of the animal hospital) so we won't have to deal with the weather. Just hoping that the icing stops and by mid morning & we can travel with ease to get our little Shelby.
