How to add weight to yorkie? How can I add weight to one of my girls? She's slim but I think she could add 1/2lb-1lb... Is there anything I can give her to put some weight on? I was giving her cottage cheese as a treat and I'm giving her puppy vitamins.. Anything I can add to her food? |
I've heard of something called satin balls that people feed to add weight to their dogs. Do a search for satin balls. |
Found it! Going to buy everything tomorrow after classes! Hopefully I'll be able to put some meat on her bones! Thank you very, very much! |
Yogurt-all natural and NO fake sugar Cottage cheese-try the 2 or 4 % kind Peanut butter or cheese-try putting them in a kong to make them last longer |
Ellie is a skinny kid too. Just feed high calorie foods. I like to feed her steel cut oats because there are 140 calories in 1/4 cup. You should have to give less than 1/4 cup a day. You have to feed a lot less oats than you would another carb to accomplish the same thing. I just boil them without the salt. I give carbs to add weight instead of meat fat because pancreatitis is a major concern... |
I just had another thought if you like high protein...eggs are high in calories. |
You can add a healthy oil like fish oil - great for getting the essential fatty acids too (efa's/Omegas)! |
