tongue question romeo was eating and barking at the same time. (he must get the multi tasking from me. lol.) i told him to stop barking and chew. he looked at me like i was crazy. i thought omg what if he bites his tongue???? do they bite their tongues like we do??? |
they can bite their tongues. its not as common in dogs as it is in people but they can bite it hard enough to make it bleed. that's usually from an injury though. if they fall or hit their head they may bite their tongue. tongues bleed a lot and its hard to stop it because you can't exactly put pressure on it. i wouldn't worry about romeo biting his tongue while eating and barking. i'd be more concerned about him choking because he's distracted while eating. |
When they get excited and start barking while they're eating, it can be heart-stopping. Under the sick/emergency section there is a sticky that instructs how to do the Heimlich Maneuver. Sometimes I wonder...... Joanne :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :dog: |
