Spent a small fortune please help I have tried wellness canned and kibble and they won't touch the kibble they got to were they also wouldn't touch the canned it had to be fresh right out of the can or they didn't want it i have tried canidae all life stages and it gave 2 of the 4 runny stools one even had a little blood in the stool :( and it says on the canidae can to mix with 75% kibble for firm stool and that is what i was doing but still runny stools and i tried to feed them just the kibble and they will not touch it so here i have 12 cans of canidae and almost a full 40 lb bag of canidae a bag of wellness puppy and a bag of weight control (for the min pin) and my babies won't touch it i am going out of my mind on what to feed them they are so picky and i really want to stick with kibble is there a kibble out there that is apealing to these little ones that is actually good for them? I have went to the dog food review website and read all up on it and know which ones are healthier but that doesn't help me with if they are tasty enough for my babies to eat it :( |
Solid Gold is great .It has a very strong smell . |
Not sure where you buy your dog food from but a friend of mine told me that Petsmart will let you return dog food. I haven't confirmed it myself but maybe you can you return some of the food. I just switched to Orijen and it is sold in a small sample bag. |
I feel your pain!!! I went through the same thing with my Bichon. I finally went with the Natures variety raw medallions. I do mix it with the kibble or she throws up. I haven't had any problems mixing the two together. They say you'll give them more digestive problems mixing raw with kibble, but it is the only way she doesn't throw up. Her stools are wonderful and she eats. I will see how the same system goes with Myah when she comes home. Have you tried warming up the canned slightly before mixing it with the kibble. I do have to warm the food up slightly that has been in the fridge or Chloe' won't eat it either. If you do switch again...just purchase a small bag and a couple cans, not a whole bunch. I've also been told to just give them the food, if they don't eat in 20 min, take it away...and give it at the next meal time. They can be stubborn little buggers....Chloe would go a week without eating and I couldn't do that. Good Luck!!! |

I don't think they sell that were i live :( |
You can take the old dog food to Petsmart on the weekend for the dog rescue groups.Or to your local animal shelter. |
The merricks is wonderful!!! My Chloe' loved it!!! It was one of the few dry and canned she would eat. Then the local grooming placed that carried it, decided that there weren't enough people buying it. So I'd have to go 50 miles one way to get it and it cost too much to ship it. If you can get it, try some of the canned mixed with what dry you have, maybe they'll eat it that way. I would warm it up for 12 seconds in the micro wave if it is the canned. It looks and smells good enough for people to eat!!! |
