They Have Diff Types Of Supplements On Their Website...which One Is The Best For Yorkies?

I just got several samples and haven't fed any other than a couple of the Wee Bits....which my dog inhaled as usual. I personally won't ever feed that particular formulation to Max, b/c #1, they are wayyyyy small and he tends to just swallow them instead of chewing them (I mean, they're REALLY small), and #2, they look way too much like the bunny poop I'm telling him NOT to eat.

I have heard excellent things about their food though and I think you can call the owner and she'll go over it all with you to determine which is best for you. HTH....Seana and Max

What do you want the supplements for? Homecooking?

If you are wanting to homecook, the bonemeal supplement MIGHT be okay but the supplements with the vitamins aren't concentrated enough for homecooking.

I will try to clarify (but it is still confusing). Solid Gold made their vitamin and mineral supplements to be an addition to their dog food. Their dog food already has plenty of vitamins and minerals in it, so the supplements aren't going to be too concentrated because their dog food has provided your dog with what it needs already.

If you aren't going to use an all-in-one supplement, you will need some type of bone meal or calcium carbonate that has calcium and phosphorus balanced. You will also have to add vitamins but those aren't going to do a good enough job.

Have you thought about Dr. Pitcairn's Healthy Powder? It isn't something I would want to use but sooo many people really like it...

I wasn't into the fact that I have to make Dr. Pitcairn's powder but I guess that may be my best bet...why don't you care for it...I know you suggested Balance IT before:icon5:

The Healthy Powder hasn't been looked at by a nutritionist as far as I know. I don't think it is possible to have enough vitamins in it after looking at the ingredients. Dr. Pitcairn also says it is okay to feed onions and grapes and it is most definately not, so how can I trust anything he says? If I were going to use it, I would want a nutritionist to look at it first. That is just me though. There are lots of dogs on it and they are doing great...

I have used Solid Gold Seameal Powder w/ Flaxseed Meal for my Yorkies recently.

You could use either the Original formula or Glocosamine.
Glocosamine is for joint problems.

I am also looking for supplements to home cooking. Every dog food that I feed my dogs turns out to have some kind of law siut or recall...what can you trust. So I ma going to home cook their dinners and give them dry dog food in the AM before I leave for work. Now I will have to learn how o give them a balanced diet with home cooking.. Nothing easy any more....but I really want them to be healthy.
