New dog food problems
 

Has anyone ever heard of Life's Abundance natural pet food? I just switched my 4 mo. old puppy to this food because he was having diarrhea on his old Royal canine food, but now he continues with the diarrhea, did i switch him too fast? Please any suggestions:confused:

You should switch over slowly, in a weeks time.
Have you taken him to the vet??
Canned pumkpin (no spices) will help with the diarhea.

And when a puppy has diarrhea or vomiting, they need to see a vet quickly just in case.

I called the vet and she told me it might be from the switch of food and to let her know if it continues, we have an appointment thurs. This food is suppose to be the most natural food out there, no preservatives, no fillers, i did a lot of research on this and i can't imagine its the cause of his diarrhea, especially because it started before i switched him. He also has thrown up once, on my daughter, who didn't like that, but only that one time.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, got to the bottom of Kramer's diarrhea, he was eating rabbit poop outside, i caught him and now i go out with him on a leash to control him, but the vet is positive this was the root of his problem, haven't gotten the stool test back yet, but i'm sure he has some parasite from it. It is gross i know, but apparently dogs eat the rabbit poop often.:eek:

Wow....that's very interesting. Max doesn't have diarrhea, but I'm almost certain that he eats rabbit poop when he goes out to go to the bathroom! And I just started trying to change him over from his Hill's Prescription W/D dry food to EVO low fat dry food. He was fine until the other evening when I gave him just the EVO for his evening snack instead of mixing it with anything. But that night, I could tell he didn't feel good; he kept moving all around during the night and I could feel his abdomen "lurching" (for want of a better word). He didn't vomit then, but yesterday morning he did after he ate breakfast. He was gone for 4 hours to the groomer's and was fine, we took him with us to dinner and he was fine, where he had his own food for dinner, got home, gave him his regular W/D food b/c I was afraid the EVO had upset his tummy. Awhile later, he vomited 3 times before we went to bed~ slept fine, but vomited again at around 4:30 am. He's fine in every other way...peeing, pooping, eating (I gave him half the amount of his normal breakfast and gave him I/D instead) and so far, he's been fine this morning. I was searching this topic to see about giving Pepto Bismol, but maybe the rabbit poop is the problem.

Did your vet say what to do for it or are you just waiting til you go into the vet this next week to check it out? I'm going to watch Max and see and if he has anymore problem we'll go to the vet's. I'm trying to figure out how to get him to stop eating the rabbit poop!

Thanks for the update. I am glad you were able to figure it out. How is your dog doing on the Life Abundance? It tried it once but my dogs did not like it.

He is eating the life's abundance, not crazy about it but he is getting more accustomed to it. About the rabbit poop my vet basically said its very hard to stop them from eating it, i am now taking him out on a leash so i can control him and i sprayed the apple's bitter stuff non the poop i could see, but the problem is it's all over the place, hard to control. Try taking him out also and watch him. If you have as much as i do he's having a feast.
