My year old Mia losing hair Has anyone ever heard of this my year old Mia is lossing hair on her hind legs and seems to be losing weight although she eats good. Please let me know I am going to call the Vet but just wondering if anyone else has seen this. Thanks |
My little yorkie also lost the hair on her hind legs athough she dosnt seem to be losing weight. Seems like when I think it is growing back in it comes back out. If you find out what is causing this on your dog hope you post an update. |
Poor Baby A friend of mine had this same thing happen to her beagle. Her dog ended up having Mange. This is a sickness that dogs get from mites that crawl into the skin. I would suggest getting your little one checked, since if not treated Mange can be fatal. I really hope that my prediction is way off and that your doggie is ok. Best of Luck!! -Meeshy |
Tink has this problem too. My vet said it's allergies, but we haven't figured out to what yet. We thought is was grass cause that was my poodle's problem Spring and Summer, but it's Winter and it is still coming out! I'm thinking it may be to something in her shampoo. I'm gonna try Johnson's baby shampoo this week and see what happens. |
I would go to the vet. It could be so many things and if it isn't mites I would want a blood test... |
hair loss puzzle Our one year old girl has hair loss on her left flank. Started out a small red spot, and she licked the hair off, it got inflamed and puffy, I put petsbest rx infection protection gel on it and it scabbed up and now the skin is not red, but the hair is flat and short and the loss is now a lot larger area, she may still be licking it. We took her to the vet and she has no mites, fleas, ringworm or mange. The vet said it could be allergies to grass, or food, so we are monitoring her eating. Went online and saw something called Cushings syndrome, anyone hear of that? (because I am worried!) |
Yorkie's losing hair problem Hello, My name is Kathleen and had a problem with my Punken. Made many trips to the vet and many meds and still was having the problem. I tried to find out on my own through trial and error. The soluation was... 1/2 teaspoon of natural yoghurt. It did the trick and her hair is back and healty. By the way, I have two little girls of my own.. Punken and Breesa, they are now three years old and are my support system. I did have Tuffy, my first Yorkie, for 13 years but died of cancer. She was very special to me during a very difficult time in my life. We both had cancer at the same time. She passed a few days after my last radiation treatment. Their is a real story to this.. maybe I'll let all you know one day. Have a great day.. take care of your babies because they take care of youl Bye for now |
Something to consider |

Those two symptoms are a sign of a thyroid problem. Have a thyroid panel done on her. If this is the cause...the treatment is simply a pill a day. |
thanks for ACV website Thanks clearblue for the website info, it is remarkable. Will check back on it a lot and will try the ACV too. Thanks also yorkietalk for this forum. It is so helpful to get input from so many nice people. |
