bacterial infection again
 
I am just about crazy. This is the 3rd infection that Tricksie has had in 2 1/2 months. Not as bad as the first two, she woke me up at 6 this morning had the bad poops with the bloody slimmy stuff, has not vomited the foam.. She is full of energy. Just went off of antibiotics Sun. so I gave her a dose this morning, didn't eat much, just now gave her a tiny bit of boiled chicken breast with rice and she ate it. If she does not get over this I will take her back to the Vet. tomorrow and they will run more tests , they have never found parasites or anything.
She never had this until I put her Life Abundance and I can't believe that would cause it. Have been on the internet trying to find out what it could be.
ANYONE with info?????:confused:

I don't know too much about bacterial infections but I do know that three times is too many. I don't think there is any way around doing further tests.

So, what had she eaten before having diarrhea this time? Life's Abundance?

You had said she had a check-up with a blood panel not long ago. When was this? After her first infection?

Were her blood levels completely normal?

Is she lethargic or depressed during these episodes?

How did they come to the conclusion that it was a bacterial infection to begin with? Was it just a guess?

The only thing that she had different was the Bully Stix and she only chewed on it for 10 min. They did a blood panel after the first infection and it was normal. They did the blood panel the second time that she was sick, everything was normal. She is not depressed, she acts normal.

Didn't she have a bully stick right before her last infection too?

Here is a thread from a couple of days ago about contaminated bully sticks. That might be her problem.

For chewing, I highly recommend cow ears....they are easier to digest and they never bother my Yorkies stomachs.

Yes, but I quit giving her anything other than LA, chicken breast and rice.

healthy dogs do not normally get food-borne illnesses, and if yours has suffered from it three times, I'd be seriously concerned that there are underlying issues causing your dog to be immunosuppressed.

I get them at Petsmart and Petco. Petsmart sell them in a package of 10 for about $9 and Petco sells them individually for 99 cent. Some of the cow ears are big so I cut them in half with tin snips.
