My little one Syaing Q post op
 
i picked up pearla today from the vet she was spayed yesterday the vet gave me pains meds and the e-collar she seems to be doing fine they said not to let her drink to much water it can cause vomiting just a small amt every few hrs she ate only 4 kibbles of her wellness pup food we'll see what dinner time brings..q is she seems like shes moving around fine with the e collar but is using a onesie like ive read in other posts a good idea? im a nervous mom and really dont want to give a chance of her nibbing at her stitches whats ur thoughts on this before i go out and buy them from buybuy baby she is 4.3 lbs and 9 mnths old and size suggestion would help thnx all!

When I had lulu spayed I didn't use the e-collar or the onsies. She never bothered her stitches. The day after the surgery she was back to her normal self like nothing happened. She ate and did the normal things.

Hope she feels better soon.

Other side of the coin.....I didn't use the collar nor a onsie...and during the night Ramsey removed her own stitches. That prompted a trip to the emergency vets because I was afraid the incision would pop open. They assure me it would be fine and it healed fine. The next female I have spayed will wear a onsie at least the first day/evening. That being said...if Pearla hasn't bothered her stitches before now, she probably won't. Ramsey's diet was only resticted the same day home. Ramsey was like, Lulu, the day after...like nothing had happened....minus her stitches.

I had taken the day off when Lulu had hers done so I watched her eagle eye. Also when they first come home they are so drugged up and sleep so much. The next day is when you need to watch and if you see it let her know it's a no no.

Thankfully Lulu didn't give me a hassle. Gonna have to see how Zoey does next month when she gets spayed.

I was home....Ramsey did it in the middle of the night while we were all sleeping.

A onesie is fine to use (I asked Ellie's vet specifically). If you see her try to get to the stitches through it though the e-collar has to go back on. You also have to make sure she can't get to the incision through the leg holes.

Layla was 3 lbs when she was spayed and she fit into a premie. so you can try 0-3 months and i'm sure that wil fit fine.. after the first few days she was really itnersted in her stiches but i only needed the onesies at night when i could't keep an eye on her

I did not have to use either as well; lily came home like nothing ever happened.

it says keep the area dry and clean can any1 tell me more about that do i have to clean it and what should i use?

if she's not bothered by the e-collar i say leave it on. This way you know she won't get at them. The incision shouldn't get too dirty unless she's overactive and it bleeds a little or she gets dirty somehow. You can clean it with warm water and a wash cloth.

ok great shes actually doing great w/the e collar so ill just leave it shes playing like normal although she cant get all the toys in her mouth cause of the e collar buts its funny trying to watch her too...kalina im in north nj too where about?
