Anyone tried this or heard anything about this? I just learned about this at the vets yesterday and I am very interested in ordering some. Just want to know if it works before buying!:animal36

I use it on Ellie. I can't say if it works for sure but I believe so. I started brushing too, so I don't know what one helps more. It is standard after oral surgery that the dog starts this at Ellie's vet. The first application should be done under anesthesia while the teeth are dry.

So you think its too late to put it on? I dont think the vet did this and I didnt know about it until after the cleaning :(

I have heard that the teeth have to be dry. The vet does the first application. Maybe you can do it the other way, but I don't think so. You can call and ask OraVet. I have before. They are very nice. I like this product because there are no side effects.:)

yeah I will have to call, How long does one of those gel packs last? Can you do two yorkies with one since their teeth are so small? I really want to try this, and it seems like its worth trying since its pretty safe to use.

Ok I called. Basically the sealant they put on the dogs teeth after the cleaning is different than the stuff you go home with. The sealant stuff works for 14 days after its applied and you just maintain the "barrier" afterwards...grrrr, my vet didnt tell me about this until after, that ticks me off, because I am not going to have her put under just to have this applied.

Yeah, I thought so. You would think your vet would've told you.:rolleyes:
One box of OraVet costs about $25. There are 8 gel packs in each box. You use one a week, so it lasts for 8 weeks. You can divide it for small breeds because their mouths are so small, so one box lasts me 16 weeks.
