Feeding Raw... ???? HELP!!! ok so Im going to be getting my baby in a couple of weeks...Im going to feed her the raw diet... now what should I start her out with? and when training what treats do I give her? also if you are traveling on airplanes for a long time what do you feed them? they have to eat... thanks in advance...    |
Sorry I didn't see your post before. I've been kind of out of it here.... I pm'd you. As for airplane travel... I've never done that with any of mine so I don't know first hand. I know that there is dehydrated food that could easily be taken along - it's not raw, but it would be fine for the plane trip. I'll see if I can come up with anything else.. my brain isn't working at full speed yet. :D Welcome to YT!!!:) |
hello! welcome to YT! i take freeze dried NV medallions for Travel. it's great..you can kinda crush them into little pieces and mine love it cuz they think it's a treat. Also you can add some water in to make it moist if you wish..as far as treats, mine gets the Stella and Chewy freeze dried kobe beef treats and yorkie yummies..they don't get treats much unless i need to bribe them..lol |
I feed raw - mine like the Primal brand of raw nuggets. I also give the Yorkie Yummies. I also like to give them either Solid Gold Lamb Jerky (it's soft, not hard and you can break into little pieces), dehydrated green tripe, and dehydrated salmon. I get mine at the health food store. I agree that the NV freeze dried medallions are a good idea for travel. That's what I use when we go somewhere. I don't think I would give it to them for every single meal, but it's ok once in a while. |

I try to stay away from treats with grains in them. I really like Wellness Pure Rewards and some dried liver treats that I get from glamourdog.com |

I make my own treats. That way I know for sure what is in it. I have a real easy liver treat recipe. If you like I can give it to you or you can Google treats and find tons of recipes that way. I too feed raw. I buy the Barf Lamb and the Barf Beef patties. They have fruits and veggies in them as well. Good luck with your new baby. |
Did you get your baby yet??? About feeding bones... you just have to have the appropriate size for your dog and then keep an eye on them when they eat.:) My bunch loves crunching away. (I love that sound :D ) |
