Bach Rescue Remedy I bought a bottle of Rescue Remedy today and just tried the first dose on Nikki. I did some research on line as well as asked about it here in the forums. It is natural and totally safe, so that's good. Anyway, I put a few drops on her tongue and hope it helps her. From what I have read, it can have almost immediate results or take maybe a week. For those of you who don't know, I am trying to calm down her aggression towards the cat and her 'brother'. I'll let you know how it does. |
I am not familiar with this stuff, what is it for exactly? |
They are flower essences and are used for many ailments. Homeopathic remedies. They are for people as well. Interesting stuff. Chk the website and see. They are Bach essences, developed by a doctor from England. My sister-in-law takes rescue remedy at times and has given it to her cat during car trips. I had forgotten about them until I asked for advice and someone here mentioned it. You can find it in health food stores. |
Wow, I didn't know any of that. That is pretty interesting. Give us an update to let us know how it goes please. |
Thank you for the info. Please tell us how it works out for you. Good luck. |
I give Rescue Remedy to my Beagle when he freaks out during thunderstorms. It really calms him down. I have tried it on my Yorkie a few times but he always sneezes so I think he's allergic. It's made with flowers so maybe that's why. I massage my little Yorkie when he seems anxious...that's usually calms him down. On the forehead right between the eyes in a good spot to gently rub. |
I have used Rescue Remedy for years (for myself) and I swear by it. I'm thinking of giving some to Chewy before his first grooming appt., so let us know how it works foryou. |
Does this stuff help with anxiety?? Just curious cause I have anxiety attacks and I was on meds for them but really the side effects were worse than the attacks. |
Kelly: It's more of a calmer, if you are stressed out, running around all day, whatever, you can have a couple of droppers under your tongue and it will help you calm down. You can try it for anxiety but it's not super powerful stuff. |
Today is the second day I have been giving it to Nikki. I do see improvement. Overall, she seems less hyper. I haven't put her with the cat yet though. Her agressive bantor with Littleman has gotten better and she is listening to me easier when I say no. So, I am going to say it is working!!! I would urge everyone interested to go to the website. The Bach essences are targeted for many different issues. Rescue remedy is a blend of five for like an overall 'peace'. Pretty interesting stuff. Check out the different uses for it. Or go to your local health food store, they probably carry it. |
That is so cool...where can we buy bach essence made for animals? I heard that it is better to get it without the alcohol but so far i haven't found:( |
I've seen Bach Flower Essences products (including Rescue Remedy) at most health food markets or vitamin shops. I'm sure you can buy it online too. http://www.bachflower.com/ and there is a Pet link on their page |
I found a few websites but they are all with alcohol...i worry about giving alcohol to Mojo, donlt want him to be an alcoholic...hehehe |
