February is Pet Dental Month!! Just wanted to remind everyone.... My vet sends out a newsletter and the reminder was on it. Mojo and LilyGrace are due for a professional teeth cleaning. How often do you have your dogs teeth professionally cleaned? |
Like to know too ! Mine wont let me brush:rolleyes: |
Simon and Hallie just had their annual exam on Thursday and they are both in need of a cleaning. I am having theirs done in February. Simon is 4 and has never needed his done until now. Hallie had hers cleaned when I got her (she was 2.5) and she will be 6 in March. Simon loves to have his teeth brushed and Hallie just hates it so I'm going to start looking into products I can use for both of them after their cleanings. |
1 Attachment(s) Rocky & Maggie went last Monday for their appointments. Maggie is 7 and this is her second time for a cleaning. She did not have infection but had 8 very loose teeth and they were removed. The vet's report said that she "has a very healthy mouth, keep up the good work" Rocky is 5, this was his first time, he did not have any loose teeth and his report said that "Rocky has one of the healthiest mouths we have seen in a long time, especially for his breed and age. Keep up the good work". $$ for: Maggie was $231.58, that included the extractions, orthopedic bioglass in the holes left by the removed teeth, a pain injection & clindamycin & metacam. Rocky's was $163.20, that included his vaccinations. It was well worth it. (The only thing wrong with Rock was that he had this nylon rope toy, see picture, that he would pull at and the tech found numerous pieces of red & white nylon thread wrapped around his front teeth holding food under his gums and was a prime spot for decay. Daddy threw it away as soon as we came home.) |
That's a great price. I'm paying $245 for the cleanings and then $50 for the bloodwork before hand EACH! My tax refund is going into the monkey's mouths :) |
 I would have thrown it out too! For some reason, I was thinking that people said rope toys were good for teeth?? Course, my two picky ones won't touch a rope toy! |
