Feeding my Yorkie cooked beef liver, heart, tongue & lamb I have found a butch who provides the above premium dog food. I give her ½ cup of the food mixed with little bit of rice, peas, carrots and potatoes peels with absolutely no spice in the morning and ½ cup in the evening. She love it plus she only goes poo once a day which her poo is black meaning all the protein she is getting. I will give her liver, which is boiled no spice or chicken. Chelsea will be 1 yr next month. I find after she eats she seems to be heavier, but in the morning she doesn’t. I’m I doing any harm with her system by feeding her the above. I also give her beef or veal tendons that are very hard and usually take a day or two days to eat. I’m hoping that they will be enough to help with the teeth. When did we in the past brush dogs’ teeth? |
Are you giving this with no dog food? You can feed entirely homecooked as long as it's balanced. You can feed potato, but not so much potato peeling (is that what you said?). I would try not to give liver everyday because it can cause vitamin a toxicity. You have to add vitamins (especially calcium). Calcium and phosphorus need to be in a certain ratio and vitamin d should be added (not necessary through a pill, maybe through food). |
where or what food wld I find the calcium and phosphorus & D. I do give her cheese maybe once a week. Liver only once a week. The preimun dog food I get is all mixed together with the liver, heart tongue & lamb and they cook it. |
Even if you were giving cheese everyday it won't come here what your dog needs. Feeding bones would but I don't like the idea. I use an all-in-one supplement. |

I use Balance IT K (not balance it L...don't like one of the ingredients in it). It does have vit. a in it though and it isn't the best idea but is super easy and lasts a long time for cheap. I think the K is also recommended for liver problems but it does have tryptophan in it. |

I am actually looking for one for my Mom's Yorkies. She is currently using Missing Link or Nupro, but they both are causing the Red Tears, so I am trying to find her something else to use. :) |
