Question about incontinence among older Yorkies Hi, I'm new here! I'm in the process of adopting a 10 year old Yorkie, who is in fine health, except for minor arthritis. I've not yet met her, but her current owner says she "has accidents at times." Do any of you know if this is a common issue among older Yorkies that can be treated or if it is a bad sign? Thank you so much for your help! |
Welcome to YorkieTalk:) Incontinence can be normal but it can be treated. Did the owner do any tests? Unless she is dribbling urine without squatting or going in her sleep I would lean toward something else. Has she been checked for an infection, stones, bladder tumors, polyps? |
I actually just spoke to the current owner and found out that its just a bad habit of Sasha's! She only has accidents when shes mad at you...which I think is something we can hopefully resolve! |
