Is there an alternative to flea/tick meds I was chatting w/ a friend the other day and we were discussing all the products we use on our pets.......boy...was that list a long one! Anyway, I was wondering....is there a safe, all-natural (and one that really works) alternative to the monthly flea/tick meds? I currently use Frontline, but have tried Advantage too. There was another monthly product (can't remember its name right now), but our vet said it didn't cover all the ticks we have in our area. We do not have fleas, but I don't want them to get them....and I just hate putting the chemicals on them each month! (We currenly use Frontline Plus 1-10lbs and we split the dose, our vet said we could) Any thoughts?? |
I have never, ever used flea/tick meds. I swear by one Brewers Yeast tablet per day. Most dogs really love the taste anyway. None of our pets (and we had 3 dogs and 2 cats) ever had fleas. We did see the occasional tick, but it was easy to remove. You can get it in the grocery store, with the vitamins. |
we just use dawn when we see them i really dont like the chemicals either if its a bad summer brownie gets advan-something lol because hes allerigic to the fleas the other 2 get dawn baths |
Luckily we only have to use it in the summer here.... but i still hate using it... Layla gets brewers yeast every day but i didn' tknow it worked for fleas... anyone know if there is anything for heartworm? |
I thought I had already posted this. I take the holistic approach with everything for my girls. Here are some really great recipes that do work!! http://lowchensaustralia.com/pests/bites2.htm |

I have to say.........that is an EXCELLENT site! THANKS for that! It is like a one stop list.....  Has anyone ever used any of these solutions...how did it work, how did it leave the hair/skin, etc. |
I just started a new product call flea treats. It is all natural and contains brewers yeast and vitamin b. The company has been in business since 1980 and the product is money back guarantee. For 500 treats it cost me $23 free ship too, that will last for 250 days for Peanut. It is safe for cats also. I really hope this works I hate those chemicals and refuse to use them. |
