great success with raw and then.... HELP! I started Tookie on NV Raw medallions Beef Formula (because he loved Natural Balance Beef Rolls) and he inhaled the medallions for a couple days. We were doubling his servings because he is skin and bones and we had great success each time. Then after a week he is starting to get picky and doesn't always eat his food right away. Sometimes I have to break off a piece and lay it out for him to interest him to the bowl. With raw, this is bad because you can't leave the food out for more than 30 mins. The directions say to throw out any left overs after 30 mins so I can't leave it out for him to pick at. Do you think I should buy another bag of medaliions in another flavor and rotate for variety? Do you think he's getting sick of the taste. If so, what flavor do your yorkies like (chicken, rabbit, venison) because he HATES lamb! Also, the NV website says to rotate with their dry kibble for variety. Do any of you have picky yorkies that will eat their kibble? If so should I get prairie or instinct? Sorry for the long post but any insight is greatly appreciated. |
I only feed the raw. I would try another protein source to give variety. I alternate venison and rabbit each day but have tried all of them. |

My Rocky is 4 lbs and no matter how much he eats, he will not chunky up. When I hold him, I can feel his bones. He is very healthy at the age of 4 years, and he has the energy of a 1 year old pup. http://www.naturesvariety.com/ifc.lasso |

tookie weighs 5 lbs and he is bony. The feeding guidelines say to feed 2.5 and we give him 3-4 a day and he still doesn't seem to be fattening up?! Maybe he's just doomed to be skinny? But he is energetic and healthy. I must say, I'm impressed at how much his stools have decreased in amount and odor. Raw is really the way to go. Should I rotate with kibble as recommended by Nature's Variety? |

Less stool, fresh alert awareness, improved skin and coat, and of course both of their energy levels and endurance increased. Maybe Tookie is showing less interest, due to his servings being doubled. Before you rotate his kibble, you may want to get him back to the recommended raw feeding portion. He may show more interest in the kibble that's left out. |
