Chanel is dragging her booty.
 
Since last night chanel has been dragging her but against the floor.I looked at it today and her anus looks a bit irritated.She has had no problems having a bowel movement .Does anyone know what causes this?

If she does it alot then I'd get her checked out by the vet - I'm no expert but it could be a few things - check her stools - it COULD be worms - but it also could mean she needs her anal sacks expressed - mine have never needed that but we had a cocker that did once....then again - she just might have an itchy bootie

how big are the worms and what color.I want to know what to specificaly look for in her stool.Shes always eating any little thing she finds on the floor.I know cause i see paper in her stool every so often.Jesus Im almost gonna be forced to keep her locked up until she grows out of that habit.

for worms - some look like little pieces of rice but theres different kinds of worms - - you can google CANINE worms and find sites with pics -

hopefully it's just an itchy butt -

my guess would be her anal glands.. we used to be at the vet every week to get them emptied.. but since home cooking we haven't had that problem. you might want to try to add a bit of fibre to her diet to harder up her stool.

you know your right.She hasnt had them emptied in a few weeks.I will take her to the groomers tommorow.I also didnt know the food she eats has anything to do with the glands.How does that work? Im feeding her innova right now and i dont know if I should try changing it.

you dont' have to completely change her diet (unless you want to) just try giving her a carrot to chew on or some apple. Our vet also suggested (perhaps only because Layla was having a horrible time) adding metamucil (or some other fiber suppliement) and it worked like a charm!

What your Yorkie is doing is called "scooting" and means her anal sacs are probably full.
