Catching Breath My little girl woke me up early this morning (in bed), trying to catch her breath. She didn't look distressed and I rubbed her throat and SHE fell back to sleep. I didn't! She has been fine since, has anyone had this happen or know why????? |
I'm not an expert..... but I would think maybe collapsed trachea? You might want to do a search and see what you can find out and maybe a trip to the vet.... |
Don't panic this is common with smaller breeds. I've been told it's a reverse sneeze. When she does it talk to her and you will find that most of the time she will be able to stop. Sometimes it happens when they drink water and it gets up their nose, other times when they get really excited. If you are still concerned ask your vet next time you go. |
My new one does that occasionally, it's like she's gasping for air, she doesn't do it very often, now, my oldest yorkie(she's 14 lbs and almost 5 years) has reverse sneezing attacks quite often, but, it sounds completely different than the pups. With the oldest one, she always comes over to me and I pick her up..they aren't breathing out of their mouths at that time, so, you need to get them to open their mouth and breath..it scares my yorkie and it scares me more..:( |
Maybe a dream. Boo does all sorts of things when he is sleeping and its usually a dream that is causing it. I call it "hes chasing rabbits and cant catch them" LOL |
