Pooping blood remedy??? I wasn't sure which section to post this in so I put it here in yorkie health. A while back, I posted about Dallas having bloody poop. I took in a stool sample and the vet said hookworms. Wormed all the dogs...all is well. A couple of weeks later, Dallas had bloody poop again. I had even posted a thread about it. I wormed him once again and all is well. I asked someone about it and they said that he couldn't have hookworms again since I had just finished worming him and she suggested stress poop...from eating something that upset his tummy. Well, as you guessed it, another couple of weeks...maybe 3 went by and he had bloody poop. I took notice this time and the only change was that I had given him a bully stick (which my dogs do not get very often). I had some Bene-Bac in my doctor kit, gave him some and low and behold a day later, there was no more bloody poop. On another occasion, I gave each dog a small bite of my left over steak. The very next day, bloody poop for Dallas. I gave him Bene-Bac again and that ended that. I'm not saying that everyone who's dog has bloody poop should use Bene-Bac and if your dog gets it, take it to the vet to rule everything else out. Bene-Bac HAS helped Dallas. I guess that Dallas just has a sensitive tummy and I make sure that I keep Bene-Bac on hand. Gracie's tummy was gurgling today and her gas is SOOOO bad. I just gave her a dab of Bene-Bac...we'll see if it helps. |
Thanks for the tip! So glad that it helped Dallas. |
Iam glad its helping..Mind if i ask what it is?? not sure, thanks:) |
Great to hear Dallas is doing fine. Its a nice to know being attentive and thorough can make all the diffence in the furbabies health. :yorkiesar |
Thanks for the tip!! I will have to give it a try. Brownie gets blood in his poop from time to time, but only when he is stressed out. He's been to the vet and had a stool sample done so I know it isn't from worms or anything else, just stress. I have some bene bac gel I keep handy so I will give it a try next time it happens. |
I always keep Bene-Bac on hand. It helps keep the digestive tract balanced. I have 1 that gets nasty runny poo any time she gets stressed and it clears it right up. |
Where do you get benebac |
You can get tiny tubes of it at petsmart or pet supply stores. I get a large tube from http://www.revivalanimal.com/ Anytime you give antibiotics, change food or water, travel, or they have diaherra its good to give. Same idea as giving yogurt but much easier and faster to work. |
OMG, where do you buy this.....My Duncan goes thru this when ever I try a new Dry Food or when we got the two new puppies. Every time I go to the vet with a poop sample and get meds I walk out with a $225.00 bill and the follow up is about 145.00 :( . This pass year it was 2 or 3 times....grrrrr Forgive me for putting a price on my babies health, but the timing was just very bad..... then I look at him and I just thank God I had the money :) the washer just had to wait another month and another time the brakes had to wait too.....lol ;) |
Thanks for this thread, :D interesting.  pooh's mum |
 Ok, I found it on that site you posted....now do you use the 1-15 gm or 4-1gm. |
Thanks for the info, I know I will be picking some up i've been wanting to change foods and Bella has a really sensitive belly.. with this it should help a lot |
I buy the 15gr and use as needed. It has dose marks on the tube. I think the individual 1gr tubes are fine as well. I just like to have more on hand. |
Brodie is the same way. If he gets something out of the norm we end up with bloody runny poop. He is so sensitive. So he doesn't get much anymorebut I'd like to keep that on hand. Can I order it from any pet supply ? Quote:
