vaccinations my yorkie got her 16 week old set of shots and i was wondering if they react a certain way like if they are tired or anything. I'm just curious, she is not acting any different, i just want to be aware. |
Vaccines can make dogs really sleep or lazy for a day or two. Some have reactions to the shots. Riley had a really bad reaction and he started vomiting. What shots did your puppy get? |
Lucky you. It sounds like she did just fine with her vaccinations this time. If they are going to have a severe reaction it's usually right away. Most times if they do get a reaction, it's more tired, a little sore, etc. afterwards. |
my little Shirley got her corona, bordetella, giardia, and rabies. another question is that she was really sore when i touch where she got her shots, and i want to take her to get groomed, how soon should i take her in, i dont want her to be uncomfortable or traumatized. |
Yikes, she got a bunch together, didn't she? I think most of prefer to stagger the shots a bit to avoid reactions. Also, corona is a vaccine many of us don't give for fear of reaction. You might want to take a look at Dr. Dodds vaccine protocol which has been adopted by twenty-seven vet schools. http://www.weim.net/emberweims/Vaccine.html To answer your question about grooming, it's best to wait a full two weeks after those final shots for full immunity before taking Shirley to the groomers, pet shops, etc. |
