Scrambled eggs are our Sunday routine at our house!!! I use 1 egg, mix in a small handful of dry kibble and divide it among 3 dogs (all 6-7 lb dogs). I don't add any oil, water, milk... I just make it in a tiny non-stick saucepan and make sure the eggs are hard scrambled. Paris can hardly contain herself as it is cooling! |
It sounds good...but actually I wouldn't recommend mixing "real" food and kibble...kibble takes longer to digest than pure, natural foods like eggs, whole grains, and veggies. If you're going to give eggs, top them with a little shredded cheddar cheese, and add a dollop of whole-grain oatmeal. All of those things can be digested together. Save the kibble for the evening meal, and feed just kibble then. |
Once a week, Thats Koda's treat:) I mix mines w/Olive oil and since she is a picky eater when it comes to the scramble eggs there's no need to clean-up the food bowl:D |
Yep mine get them every so often. |
My 2 share a hard boiled egg every week. They go CRAZY over it. I'll try scrambling them this week :) |
Mine love eggs but they are fed without cooking. |

I make chachi and Jewels scambled eggs every Sunday. They love them |
Looks like Sundays are the popular days for scrambled eggs, because even at our house sundays are egg days. I make them without butter, milk, salt or water. Just scramble egg in a small pan and they can barely wait for them to cool off. Or I do hard boiled eggs. Sometimes they even get it on saturdays :D Then they REALLY love me...I keep reading and hearing about how good eggs are for dogs coats and skin. It has a lot of protein plus something about the yolk keeps the babies coat and skin good. But of course only 1-2 eggs a week without all the stuff we add in them for us. |
Lucy loves scrambled eggs (as do my cats!). I fix it for them every Sunday... |
Murphy and Mia get a 1/2 a hard boiled egg every morning for breakfast with a teaspoon of cottage cheese - they love it. |
We gave our dogs scrambled eggs once and they had gas really bad, especially Kasey. So we decided not give them any more. |
Mine get 1/2 boiled egg each every morning or evening mixed with their meat & veggies and oatmeal with broccoli. Home cooking all the way for my girls. ;) |
I used to give Max just a few pieces of my scrambled egg whites and he LOVED it! I wonder though.....if anyone knows.....I use the nonstick cooking spray to cook them with....I wonder if that's ok for them? I mean, he never got sick or anything, but I wonder if it's better that they be cooked in olive oil or something else rather than the NSCS? I never noticed him having gas either...maybe it's from the yolk:confused: |

Also, I am cooking it in the microwave. I just mix it up plain in a glass dish and cook it for less than a minute..........then mix it a bit and cook a bit more to be sure it is done. Any problems with the microwave? I hope not, as we eat food from the microwave! Lori |
Mine get eggs also, it is a huge treat to them and they love it, I generally give them just egg, but adding cheese would be a bonus for them, pooh's mum |

HUMMMM.....I am wondering if I should stop giving M&M one every morning now. What else could I feed for breakfast if I do not do my mixture of egg and cottage cheese? |

Or, what about cottage cheese and tofu (if no soy allergies) or meat or fish? |

What if you just give them the whites scrambled? It's a good source of protein and no cholesterol. You could add the yolk like once a week or a couple of days a week. I know Max loved the whites. I just scramble them in non stick spray (or you could use olive oil I guess) without any seasoning. |
