Snorting Sound Hi; One of my female 2 1/2 year old yorkie, has started to snort very bad. She snores when she is sleeping, snorts when she is smelling something and even walking and trying to breathe she snorts. Anyone ever have this problem. All the vets tell me allergies. Thanks, Sofee |
hi welcome to YT! It could be allergies, but it could also be reverse sneezing or collapsed trachea. i think your vets should check her out a little more before just deciding on allergies. |
I agree I'd have some further tests done. |
My Zoe does that a little bit too. But only after she takes a big drink of water. Usually it's early in the morning and she's been in her crate and she's thirsty and she runs down and gulps a bunch of water. I have worried that maybe she has callapsing trachea? I don't know myself. I did ask the vet about it awhile ago and she said that she couldn't find anything wrong but I'm not sure if it's something that you must do an x-ray for? Maybe someone else on here knows more than me..... |

I would definitely have her examined by your veterinarian. Natalie gets to doing it so badly she passes out... which is TERRIFYING to BOTH of us! At least you'll know with a radiograph if it's nothing to worry about... she may need simple allergy medication. Please keep us posted! :) |
